i helped with a kids camp last summer, and looking through the pictures i couldn't help but long for the summer days once again. even with all those crazy kids all day, i couldn't complain. i mean, they're friggen cute, too. and i'm not complaining right now with
temperatures ABOVE ZERO!!! (the psychotic winds didn't even dampen my spirits). but i couldn't help but feel all warm inside from the thoughts of summer kids camp. i think one of these pictures made the carillon (
if anyone noticed a chicken disguised man with a bunch of kids in the paper...that was me).

in the pic above, i'm beginning the week trying to figure out what i'm going to be doing with these kids

the girls seem content with a tea party

some of us dudes hit up the pool. rad times.

it was story time, and so we opted to do a crab walk to get to the story tent.

i think the story was robinhood, one of my all-time favorites.

yes...that's a chicken mask on my face.

chicken dancing.

you can still be manly and do art.

concrete games

some of the fine folk i worked with!

Hmm, looking through all those pictures one could almost come to the conclusion that you were a camper instead of one of the staff. Seriously, who's having all the fun with his shirt off? And who appears to be enjoying the dancing and crafts as much as the little kids? And who has the biggest grin on his face? And who cried the most when it was time to go home? My guess is Mark.
I highly suspect that this was an elaborate attempt to pass off the Drop-In's annual chicken dance and craft retreat as a tax deductible kid's day program. I'm on to you, Marklar.
i'll pay you off if you don't tell
ha. that looked like a fun summer!!!
awesome photos!
reminds me of a summer brian told me that he got asked to help with some sort of kids camp. brian thought, "kids? how hard could that be?"
so the day comes that he is at the camp. and he finds himself at the front of the room as he was asked to tell them some sort of bible story.
brian starts his story and goes into great detail adding much drama and flair. minutes went by and he thought he was holding their attention until....
UNTIL a little hand went up int he back row interrupting his tale.
"yes?" brian asked the little girl with black braids.
"my birthday is in december" she told him.
brian never finished the bible story. they ended the rest of the hour going around the circle telling each other when their birthdays were.
!!
i love that story
